After sending 1,000 high school students to college and nearly 14 years of forming thousands of relationships between students from Washington, D.C. public schools and members of the regional business and political communities, Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund will close its doors for good this fall.

On Thursday, October 1, 2009 politicians, local celebrities, donors, students, and volunteers will gather at The Historical Society of Washington, D.C at 801 K Street, NW (near the Washington Convention Center) for a closing gathering to celebrate the 1,000 students who received internships, academic scholarships, SAT preparation, mentoring and so much more through Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund.
