Washington, DC (October 26)   Tickets for “Capital Showdown: Khan vs. Peterson” go on sale Friday, Oct. 28 at 10:00 a.m. ET. Big-time boxing’s return to our nation’s capital has created a buzz amongst sports fans ready to see the Unified Super Lightweight Champion Amir “King” Khan defend his titles against the No. 1-rated IBF Contender Lamont Peterson on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Plus, Brandywine, Maryland’s undefeated top heavyweight contender and former Michigan State University standout linebacker Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell and Lamont’s brother and top lightweight contender Anthony Peterson will be featured in separate fights.

“Capital Showdown: Khan vs. Peterson,” a 12-round Unified Super Lightweight World Title Fight for Khan’s WBA World Super Championship and IBF World Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Khan Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, DeWalt Tools and AT&T.   The HBO World Championship Boxing telecast begins at 9:45 p.m. ET/6:45 p.m. PT.

D.C.’s WPGC 95.5 FM presents the 12th Annual “For Sisters Only Expo”. The event will take at the Walter E Washington Convention Center on Saturday, November 5, 2011 (11AM to 8PM).  The extravaganza will feature women’s empowerment seminars, national recording artists, authors and leadership speakers, local politicians, virtual-reality based games, contests, games for the kids and so much more.

This year’s For Sisters Only will be one of the most exciting in the events’ history, with R&B artists BBD (Bell Biv DeVoe), Eric Benet, Estelle, Wale and more.  Also appearing at this year’s event Bravo Network’s Kandi Burrus from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and VH1’s Tami Roman of Basketball Wives.

The Literary Café will feature literary talent such as Karyn Langhorne Folan, author of Don’t Bring Home A White Boy, Dr. Michelle, author of Where Do I Go From Here, Ralph Richard Banks, author of Is Marriage For White People and other notable authors will also be on hand.

The event will feature the following pavilions: Health, Beauty, For Brothers Only Sports Pavilion and Children’s Pavilion.
