The Fridge is pleased to be an official sponsor of Sensorium — a 6 week Culinary and Sensory experience taking place inside a 36′ Geodesic Dome on the Capitol Riverfront.

Sensorium is a culinary and sensory experience featuring creative atmosphere and cutting-edge production. Enjoy a 12 course tasting extravaganza brought to you by Executive Chef Bryon Brown, amidst an evening of delights, mysteries, and surprises for all five senses!

Inspired by Artisa Kitchen, a nomadic Supper Club hosted at various art galleries in DC, Sensorium combines the culinary arts and visual/performing arts into a production that unfolds over a 12 course tasting menu complete with wine pairings.

Jeramie Bellmay (The Fridge Associate Curator), and David London (The Fridge Gallery Manager) are heading up the creative team behind the production.

The performers have been rehearsing at the Fridge for the last several weeks, as they prepare to launch the production on April 12th.

Tickets are $150 per person.  Each seating is limited to 30 people.

Tickets are currently available for the first three weeks of Sensorium, April 12 – May 1, 2011.  A limited number of discounted tickets are available for the first two nights.

The WPA Art Parade is an extravaganza of artists connecting with community to create a moving visual spectacle of art and culture. Visual artists, performers, architects, musicians, and visual arts organizations are invited to work independently, together, and in partnership with community organizations to create inflatable art, placards, portable sculpture and street performance.

DATE: WPArade will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2010
TIME: 12:00 pm
ROUTE: Start at Half St SE & M St SE, walk along Half St, end at Half St SE &

Participants can traverse the route in any manner that is non-motorized (wagons, bicycles, walking, etc. are acceptable). The WPArade will culminate in a post-parade celebration until 3:00 pm (open to all participants and attendees) at The Bullpen on Half Street, SE.

All participants must submit an entry form.


OPTION 1: Artists (of any discipline) and arts organizations can submit a proposal for their WPArade entry, float, or performance as an individual or a group. See submission guidelines for details and restrictions. Artists do not need to be a member of WPA to apply. (Deadline 5/5/10, you will be notified by 5/12/10)

OPTION 2: Individual artists that are current members of WPA can apply for funding to work with a community organization of your choice to jointly develop an entry for the WPArade. There will be five awards of $1,000 granted to individual artists to work with a community group to participate in the WPArade. (Deadline (extended!) 4/19/10, you will be notified by 4/23/10)
